64% of the human skin is WATER!.

FACT: Some Vitamins (B complex), supplements, herbs, and medications (antibiotics) can change urine color.
DEHYDRATION
Adequate water consumption is an essential component to the overall health of the human body. Dehydration can cause bad breath, muscle cramps, headaches, constipation and chronic dehydration which can lead to the risk of more serious health issues: such as, kidney stones, urinary tract infections and other illnesses..

THE HYDRATION TEST
How do you determine your hydration status? Check your urine color.
Clear to pale yellow = hydrated
Dark yellow = dehydration (in most cases)
RECOMMENDED DAILY WATER INTAKE
If you ask most persons how much water they should have daily, the answer would be 8 glasses.
Age, gender and disease state are factors that influence recommended daily water intake. For healthy individuals the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics estimates about 11.5cups/day for women and approximately 15.5cups/day for men. After taking into account the amounts of water from food, daily water intake should total 9 cups for woman and 12.5 cups for men. Persons with congestive heart failure (CHF), renal (kidney) disease or other fluid restrictions will have different water/ fluid requirements
HYDRATION STRATEGIES
Decrease the consumption of high salt foods like chips and cured meats
Schedule times during the day to drink water or eat fruits and vegetables that contain higher water content: Melons, strawberries, lettuce, celery, cucumbers…
Carry a reusable water bottle ( BPA free)
Limit caffeine and alcohol consumption (diuretics)
